The World Turns in a Downward Tilt.

Tue Apr 28, 2009, 8:03 PM
Mmm... odd subject title, you say? Well, it is. It's nearly midnight and that just popped in my head. Yes, I've slipped into emo mode.

I just finished up a large project and am relieved to be able to work on my own art now, although I believe I've hit somewhat of a dry spell. My muse is gone. I have a graphic novel to draw/write, yet I can't get myself to lift the tablet pen. And yes, I know, this is nothing new; it happens to all of us. I'm just a Debby Downer lately.

The list of shit-tastics: Money problems, no doggie, working all the time, saying goodbye to one of my ratties, constantly being taken for granted, depressed... *heaves for air*...

"Shake it off, Kari," you say. "It's not the end of the world. Just keep swimming..."

"Swimming?" I reply. "That's an odd thing to say." And then after a pause, "Why the hell am I having a fake conversation in my journal entry?"

Ahem. Anywho---

Hopefully I will have some updates soon.

In the meantime, who wants to be my muse?

A rat gone? :( And I'm in a slump myself, so I can't be a muse... Maybe the passed Rat can be your angelic muse?

Gah! I can't stand missing Muses! It feels like it goes on forever. :shakefist: My advice, for what it's worth, is to try not drawing/creating in your usual mediums. Try something different, or take up walking in the park or something similar. Get away from the normal and your muses will come back with cool new ideas…or so that's how it's worked for myself.

But I have to say, the journal entry talking to a non-existent person… that kinda made me laugh. My day is content now. :aww:

Music is some of the better way of inpiration, in my point of view.. Do you want any songs suggestions for this artist block? What kind of music do you usually listen to?

I'm pretty into Thomas Newman's stuff for the moment.. He has made a looot of good OSTs (American Beauty, Nemo, Little Women, ..) You can check his stuff out on Deezer, here: link :)

even if I'd love to get the job, I'd be a bad muse. I can only support you :petting:

You need to watch some Mystery Science Theater 3000, enjoy the smashtastic cynicism of Tom Servo and Crow, and from there....draw a picture of a donkey boxing the great philosopher Plato. Only then...will you truly understand the world.

BLEH! I hate slumps! I'm in one too...they should make some over the counter anti-slump medicine that tastes like Skittles®
